Enhancing the quality of life of older adults in the Lindenwood Park Neighborhood.
Our Beginning
In 2006, five churches in the Lindenwood Park neighborhood recognized the growing needs of the senior adults in their community. They approached South Grand Senior Ministry (SGSM) with the hope of replicating SGSM’s model program in the Lindenwood community. After a year of consultation and the building out of core programs, Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry (LASM) became an independent entity in January 2008. LASM achieved its nonprofit status in 2009 and is proud to be a vital and growing ministry.
“A happy and healthy community is not a fairytale.”
LASM's services and programs are provided to any senior member of one of our partner churches and/or any older adult living in the Lindenwood Park Neighborhood. The Lindenwood Park Neighborhood boundaries are:
Beginning at Hampton and Arsenal
South on Hampton to Chippewa
West on Chippewa to city limits
North along city limits to I-44
East on I-44 to Arsenal
West on Arsenal to Hampton
Our Mission
In keeping with the ministry of Christ, Lindenwood Senior Ministry seeks to enhance the quality of life of senior adults by providing meaningful volunteer experiences, services and programs that promote physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. You do not have to be a member of a particular organization to participate in LASM. We serve senior adults who need support to stay in their homes and remain engaged in their community.
