Katie has a Masters in Social Work with a certificate in Gerontology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She began working at LASM in 2009 and has been honored to be a part of the ministry’s outreach and growth. She feels extremely blessed by the relationships she has with clients and volunteers and loves the variety of experiences that her work offers. Katie’s prior professional life included community mental health case management and working in social services for a skilled nursing facility.

In addition to working with older adults, Katie loves reading fiction, family vacations, and catching up with friends over long walks. Katie and her husband Jason love city living and live close to the Lindenwood Park Neighborhood that LASM serves. They have two daughters who keep them on their toes.

Leigh has a Masters in Social Work from Saint Louis University with 20 years of case management experience. Prior to working for Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry, she provided supportive services to older adults at St. Stephen Protomartyr Church and surrounding neighborhood. She has also served as a consultant to nonprofit developers of affordable housing to secure funding through government programs and the private sector.

Since 2007, Leigh has designed and edited the monthly Lindenwood Area Senior News, utilizing her B.A. in Media Communications from Webster University. In previous roles, she was a copywriter and Newspapers In Education Coordinator at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and worked in Public Relations at Laclede Gas Company. She and her husband have four children and are involved with Concordia Turners in South St. Louis. She loves to read, watch old movies, swing dance, and play pickleball and volleyball.
