Assistance Applying: Senior Property Tax Freeze

The City of St. Louis has enacted a Senior Citizen Property Tax Freeze. Eligible seniors may apply for the credit annually through the City of St. Louis Assessor’s Office. Eligibility requirements include: 62 years of age by 9/1/24, obtained 40 Social Security retirement credits, own primary residence in the City of St. Louis, property is appraised at $500,000 or less and property taxes from the previous year are paid in full. If you qualify for this freeze and would like assistance applying, LASM is here to help.

On Wednesday, April 17th from 10 am til noon you can make a 15-minute appointment with an LASM staff member or volunteer to apply for the freeze. Appointments will be held in Memorial Hall of Southwest Baptist Church at 6401 Scanlan Avenue. The freeze applies only to real estate tax and you must apply by June 30th. Don’t delay, make your appointment today! Help with transportation is available.
